We asked Bex to give us an insight into what drew her to Rembo.
My love affair with these gowns began as soon as I saw them at an international trade exhibition... I knew I had to have them in my Studio! So here goes......
What attracted me to Rembo?
After many years of searching for a supplier that could provide beautiful vintage and Boho styled gowns at affordable prices that passed my extremely critical eye, I was delighted to be given the opportunity to work with this Belgium company.
What makes Rembo so appealing?
They have several collections by extremely talented designers which fit in perfectly with my ethos of providing beautiful, unusual vintage and bohemian dresses in sumptuous fabrics at an affordable price. It also means that more brides are able to order a beautiful dress, even when my bespoke diary is full.
What design elements attracted me?
As a dressmaker obsessed with all the glorious bygone decades of last century, I am passionate about vintage styling and quality fabric. Lace plays a central role in these collections. Sometimes combining a pastel-coloured base in soft creams or pastels with a top layer of ivory-coloured lace, which makes for a very subtle colour effect.
Which features in particular do I love?
Many of the designs include amazing details. For example, "Margot" features exclusive lace which was developed with a pair of love birds, incorporated into the shoulder or the bust. There are several gowns with generously cut-out backs, a major trend at the moment. The focus on the back of the lace on some of the gowns is increased by jewel buttons as fasteners.
Are there any on trend details in these collections that brides to be should check out?
Yes! Beautiful back decolletés are THE trend for next season, by the way!
What are they like to wear and do they combine beauty with wearability?
Rembo designs offer plenty of movement and comfort thanks to the use of jersey, a material that caught the fancy of many a bride last season. You also have the option of one of the many gowns that have a choice of either a structured boned under gown in crepe or a softly draping bias cut crepe under gown.
What type of bride do I think these will appeal to?
Brides looking for a dress made from exquisite fabrics with authentic vintage styling and attention to detail AND they will be amazed to find that these dresses fall within the £1000-£1500 bracket.
Lots of love, Bex. Look forward to meeting some of you soon! X
